The Art Take-Out by the ArtWashers


Art is sustenance for the soul…. so they say…

Open call to all artists to be part of the Art Take-Out.
The only condition being that the work fits into a take-out container!
Dimensions 18x10x4.5 cm


The Art Take-out night will be at:
Tsang’s Kitchen
147 Iffley Road, Oxford
On the 2nd June 2009
from 7-10pm

‘Customers’ can choose the work they want from the Take-Out Menu.
Works will be on view on the ArtWash website prior to the event.
Customers can then ‘acquire’ this work by fulfilling a pledge* determined by the artist.
The pledge will be the ‘currency’ for the evening.

The Artist will be under the heading they choose as in Starter, Main Dish or Desert.
The work*, however, must fit inside a tinfoil take-out container.
(Dimensions 18x10x4.5 cm)

The Deadline date for entries is 4th May 2009 5pm.

To do so and for postal address, please get in touch via artwash@gmail.com
sending an image or a web-link with previous work and an idea of what you might like to enter.


To enter -
post your work and your pledge description to ArtWash (postal address see above) ArtWashwill then place your work into containers. Add your name,work and pledge to the menu as well as upload images of your work to this blog before the Take-out event.



* A Pledge can be-
A donation to a charity, a promise to talk to strangers, to sing a song…
Each artist chooses the pledge they would like in exchange for the their work.
The ArtWashers will set the forfeit where the Artist has not given pledge instructions.
*The work can be-
A poem, a T-shirt, Tea Towel, a small object, painting…
However, it must fit inside a tinfoil take-out container (Dimensions 18x10x4.5 cm)




ArtWash is a non-Profit artist-led organisation. As such we are sadly unable to offer a fee for the work entered. We will however offer exposure as well as press and mailing list invites.
The ArtWashers are Ann Rapstoff , Barry Reeves and Kay Sentance
